The event will take place from Aug. 29-Sept. 2. Team USA will play five games in a round robin format with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. The four teams will battle for two spots in next year's U-18 WBSC World Cup Finals. Ruggiero was a top 50 recruit according to Extra Inning Softball and brings another big bat for an explosive Seminole offense. As a senior at the Oxbridge Academy of the Palm Beaches, Ruggiero hit .617 with 16 home runs and 50 RBI. Out of Ruggiero's 37 hits, 26 of them were for extra bases. Ruggiero's 16 home runs led the state of Florida and helped her win the Palm Beach 5A-1A Player of the Year award.
